The Revd A.E.Forest then installed a Baldachino and Tabernacle in the sanctuary. He also had the lower part of the East Wall elaborately painted showing the apostles framed in decorated arches.

The Revd P Thorburn who succeeded him called a parish meeting and as a result a fund was organised and the altar, choir and priest’s stall were repaired or replaced, and the church return to its former layout and plain decoration.
